Nay, xin giới thiệu 3 thuật ngữ này bằng tiếng Anh và một vài thuật ngữ liên quan.

1. RUNWAY

RUNWAY /ˈrʌnweɪ/: Runways are used by airplanes to takeoff and land. ĐƯỜNG BĂNG, PHI ĐẠO (đường máy bay cất hạ cánh)

Các ví dụ:

– An airplane touched down on the runway.

– The airplane landed safely on the runway.

– The plane apparently overshot the runway after landing.

– I repeat: the runway is not clear for take-off.

– The plane roared down the runway for takeoff.

– The plane overshot the runway and plunged into a ditch.

– Our plane has lifted off the runway and is now airborne.

– A jetliner taxied down the runway and took off.

– The wheels of the aircraft kissed the runway.

– The plane moved slowly along the runway then stopped.

– The plane started taxiing down the runway.

– An aircraft overshot the runway and was severely damaged.

– The plane taxied/was taxiing along the runway.

– The runway is clear — go ahead and land.

2. TAXIWAY

TAXIWAY /ˈtæksiweɪ/: Taxiways are the “roads” airplanes take to get to and from the runways. ĐƯỜNG LĂN (đường máy bay lăn từ sân đỗ đến đường băng để cất cánh và ngược lại khi hạ cánh hoặc lăn từ nơi này đến nơi khác trong sân bay)

– Taxiway No 2 is snowbound. Continue straight ahead.

– The taxiway ahead is blocked.

– Never drive in a taxiway.

– Slow down and backtrack on the runway, taxiway No 5 is blocked with aircraft.

– Taxiway No.6 is closed. Use No.5 into runway 03, then backtrack to the end of the runway.

 3. APRON

APRON /ˈeɪprən/: The Apron is the place where airplanes park to board passengers and refuel. SÂN ĐỖ MÁY BAY (nơi máy bay đỗ, nạp nhiên liệu)

Các ví dụ:

– The airport apron has four parking bays and a helipad.

– In 1996,1997 the runway surface, and in 1998 the airport apron and taxiways were renovated.

– He said the extended airport apron was big enough to handle five Boeing-737s at any one time.

– The airport apron is big enough to handle five Boeing 737s at any one time compared with only two previously.

– Advanced dollies for ULD and pallets, such as those used on an airport apron, may have the following specialized facilities.

JET BRIDGE

JET BRIDGE /ˈdʒɛt brɪdʒ/: an extendible bridge for loading passengers onto large commercial airplanes; provides protected access to the plane from the gate. Từ đồng nghĩa: Jetway, passenger boarding bridge (PBB), air bridge, and sky bridge. CẦU ỐNG LỒNG (một cây cầu có thể mở rộng để đưa hành khách lên các máy bay thương mại lớn; cung cấp lối đi được bảo vệ từ cổng vào máy bay)

TARMAC

TARMAC /ˈtɑːmæk/: an area of ground covered with a hard surface, esp. the areas of an airport where aircraft park, land, and take off: ĐƯỜNG BĂNG, SÂN ĐỖ MÁY BAY (một khu vực mặt đất được bao phủ bởi một bề mặt cứng, đặc biệt. các khu vực của sân bay nơi máy bay đậu, hạ cánh và cất cánh).
