Ở tiếng Việt, bên cạnh từ ngữ ‘máy bay không người lái tự sát’, ta thấy còn có ‘UAV tự sát’, từ ngữ dịch vay mượn một phần (loan blends), sự vay mượn mà một phần của từ tiếng Việt (tự sát) còn phần còn lại là vay mượn từ cụm từ tắt tiếng Anh ‘UAV’; tuy nhiên, ở tiếng Anh, ngoài từ ngữ ‘loitering munition’ thì ‘UAV tự sát’ lại là một danh từ ghép mà người ta dùng từ ‘drone’ chứ không dùng cụm từ tắt ‘UAV’ và bổ nghĩa cho nó là ‘suicide’ hoặc ‘kamikaze’ như trong ví dụ sau:
